ContestPad allows you to review and manually assign entries to a voting period that are eligible or ineligible to receive votes.

To get to the entry assignment area select the "Entries" button for the voting period you are wanting to work on.

Depending on how you have setup your voting period the Entries tab will either display tabs for eligible and ineligible entries or it will display unallocated entries and voting group tabs on the left.

Eligible or Ineligible options:

Voting Groups option:

Entries Eligible by Default

If the Voting Period is setup to have entries eligible by default then all available and new entries that are received will be eligible to receive votes. This is typically used when the first round of voting commences.

To selectively make entries ineligible to receive votes just select the "All Eligible Entries" tab and select entries in the table on the right and then either drag and drop them to the "All Ineligible Entries" tab or select "Unassign". You can also bulk select entries by selecting an entry, then selecting another entry while holding down the "shift" key on your keyboard.

This will move entries from the "All Eligible Entries" tab to the "All Ineligible Entries" tab.

Entries Ineligible by Default

If the Voting Period is setup to have entries "Ineligible by default" then all available and new entries that are received will be ineligible to receive votes during this voting period. This is typically used in a 2nd or later round voting period or where only selected entries are being voted on.

To selectively make entries eligible to receive votes just select the "All Ineligible Entries" tab and select entries from the table on the right and then either drag and drop them to the "All eligible Entries" tab or select "Assign To" and then select "All Eligible Entries" from the drop down list. You can also bulk select entries by selecting an entry, then selecting another entry while holding down the "shift" key on your keyboard.

Voting Groups

When your voting period has been selected to use groups then the list of voting groups that have been created for the voting period will be displayed on the left. These voting groups are used to provide voters with a filtered list of grouped entries that voters can vote on within a specific group. This provides the ability to create tournament style competitions where grouped entries compete for vote against each other.

All Unallocated Entries

The "All Unallocated Entries" tab on the left will filter the entries table to all entries that have not been assigned to any of the currently selected voting period groups.

Entries from other Periods

The "Entries from other Periods" tab on the left will filter all entries that have been assigned to other voting periods and that have not been assigned to any groups in this voting period.

To allocated entries just filter/sort the entries from the entries table on the right and then select the entries you want to assign. Then either drag and drop them to the group you want them assigned to or select the "Assign To" drop down and select the group to assign them to.

Entry table filters

The Entry table contains some filters which allows you to narrow down which entries you want to select.

Start and End date

The Start and End date filters allow you to filter entries that where uploaded on and between two specific dates. This is handy if you want to only vote on entries that were received within a certain period.

Category

The category drop down box will filter entries that belong to a specific category.

Period

The "All Periods" drop down filter allows you to filter entries that were eligible for voting from another voting period. This will also display the votes that were received during the selected voting period. This is really handy when you want to select the top vote getters from another voting period.
